CSR requires every business to consider
the social and environmental consequences of its activities.
The
CSR credentials of a business - whether participation in carbon reduction
programs, other environmental initiatives, local community
and charitable activities or implementation of best practice
health and safety policies - are a significant factor in determining
the reputation of a business. Business can no longer focus on its
marketplace
alone
and it
cannot prioritise the interests of its owners to the detriment of
its
employees, its suppliers, its local community or even the wider
environment.
